Home Improvement Projects - Flooring

So I always talk about the older I get, the cheaper I get because it’s so true! Being an adult is expensive, so if I can find a cheaper route than usual to do things, I’m all for it. I’ve recently been looking to get my flooring redone in one of my spare bedrooms. When we first moved into our home a couple years ago, the carpet was pretty gross (it always is when moving into a home someone else has already lived in). Not only was it gross, but having a puppy made it worse! We got a Husky-German Shepherd mix shortly after moving in and of course he had plenty of accidents and also ripped up some of the carpet (they say you can’t have nice things when you have kids, add dogs to that statement too).

We had our carpet downstairs redone back in March and used Empire Today, so I brought them back to quote my spare bedroom thinking it wouldn’t be much since it was a smaller area. Boy was I wrong! They were charging almost as much and don’t even ask me the price they quoted for vinyl flooring - it was ridiculous! So I thought, how can I do this much cheaper? When I think of cheap things, Facebook Marketplace comes to mind. I figured I could possibly find someone on there to do my flooring for a decent price. Sure enough, I found many postings of people who do flooring themselves for great prices. Since this spare bedroom is actually my workout room (or was supposed to be because since we've moved in it's pretty much been a junk room), I decided I wanted vinyl flooring. I was able to find someone to do it for cheap and he even told me about a place that sold cheap flooring - Mr. Jimenez Discount (located near Georgetown & Lafayette). To get this makeover done, I only spent $500!!! So excited to get the rest of the flooring done throughout the house.
